My Wish List #5: Jewellery

My last wishlist was for Mother’s Day so it’s been a while since I’ve posted about what I want. And trust me, it’s not because there isn’t anything I want… ..

As you know, I’m currently on maternity leave and my little one is at an age which causes me not to wear jewellery – I don’t want to scratch my little one or it be a choking hazard and I don’t go out anywhere by myself that’s fancy enough to warrant some bling. But this actually makes me want some new jewellery even more! Now, I’m not into the typical diamond or precious stone jewellery or the plain gold/silver stuff or even the charm bracelets and every time an Angus & Cootes or Prouds catalogue comes in the mail, I shudder.  I like my jewellery a little different and a little edgy… and judging by the instagram and facebook pics I’m getting bombarded with, there’s no shortage of it out there. So here’ are some of my favourite designers and pieces…

1. Spiked bracelet

They’re popping up everywhere and I’m loving it! I want! The one I want is the Eddie Borgo (I love his stuff) cone bracelet.

You can them locally from Cult Status for $749 or buy them overseas from Matches Fashion for AUD$549 plus delivery. If you email the Eddie Borgo sales team in NY, they can arrange overseas purchases for you. There’s many different variations in size as well as metal so check out the Eddie Borgo website. The above pic is paired with a Balenciaga leather wrap around bracelet.

2. Earring Cuffs

Oh boy there are some really elaborate and terrible looking ear cuffs out there. Ear cuffs itself isn’t something that is THAT common so I would prefer something simple.

3. Cuff bracelet

I love chunky cuff style bracelets – whether it’s leather or metal. There’s so many great ones out there, narrowing it down is the problem but these are the ones definitely on my wishlist:

Saint Laurent studded leather cuff bracelet - AUD$555 from Matches Fashion

Lastly, my favourite one on my wish list. Droolworthy..

Hermes Collier de Chien

4. Statement necklace

I wear a lot of simple black or white clothes and don’t usually go for bright colour or prints. Instead, I’d rather jazz up my outfit with accessories and this includes a great chunky statement necklace.

Alexander McQueen Bee Crystal choker necklace - AUD$2,565

Ok that last necklace is definitely staying on my wishlist and never in my shopping cart!

5. Chain necklaces

For everyday wear, I love long chain necklaces with a pendant that’s a bit different. You can get different length chains and layer them up. So many I want!

Monserat De Lucca skull and brain necklace - USD$137

How cool is the last one with the brains?! Hahaha… Would love to wear that with combat boots and go for the grunge look.

So you’re probably wondering whether the rings are? Well after all this, I actually like plain simple bands for rings – nothing too chunky or heavy. Given at work, I’m in front of a computer typing and at home I have kids to look after, I like plain rings so my hands are comfortable.

I know this type of jewellery is not for everyone but at least you got to see something different! Now, I gotta go and narrow the list down and make a few purchases!
