First post so lets start with something every girl wants and loves and is undoubtedly a classic piece that will stand the test of time.
So, ignoring the fact that the classic pumps are usually sold out as soon as it’s in stock, here are a few places you can purchase the shoes and have it shipped to Australia..
1.Net a Porter – US site
Christian Louboutin DeCollette 100 Leather Pumps – USD$595 plus USD$55 shipping to Australia. Assuming an approximate exchange rate of 1:1 (with 3% added for credit card transactions), then you will be paying a total of AUD$650.
Who doesn’t love a classic round toe pump with the signature red soles! The shipping charges are a bit steep (it’s gone up since I last shopped on the US site!) but I can guarantee it’ll still be cheaper than buying it locally.
2. Saks Fifth Avenue
Christina Louboutin Simple 70MM Patent Leather Pumps – AUD$646.10 plus AUD$20.70 shipping with promotional code ‘Row13’.
I love these ones as the heels are a little bit more safe for an unco like me. These days, big department stores in the US like Saks are using an eCommerice company called FiftyOne which allows customers to transact in their local currency and avoid credit card exchange rate fees. Plus you know exactly how much you will be charged and have no nasty surprises later when you receive your credit card statement. So all up for this, you will be paying AUD$686.80.
3. Jean Brown
Christian Louboutin Decollette 554 100 Pump in shiny calf – AUD$695 plus free shipping
Australian store based in Melbourne but can order online/via phone. Limited stock but convenience of being a local retailer. These killer shoes with a smart skirt suit will make you stand out at work that’s for sure! P.S. just to make you cringe, these retail on interntional sites for approximately AUD$560 (converted from Euro and GBP) which just highlights the mark-ups in Australia.
4. My Theresa
Christian Louboutin New Simple 100 Suede Pump – €495 plus €69 for shipping
LOVE love love the suede and colour for Autumn/Winter! Shipping charges are too expensive but the AUD is very strong against the Euro these days so sometimes it can be worth it. If your smart and extra vigilant, you can keep an eye out on the exchange rate and buy when the AUD is further up against the Euro. Converted to AUD, you’re looking at about $745 for these delivered.
There are a few other places you can look (i.e Net a Porter – UK site, Barneys, Matches fashion) so have a look around and do your homework to secure the best price! If you know someone overseas in the US or UK that can either ship it for you or bring it over, even better!
